A Guide for Visitors to Valorde Town

The Wickenburg-Valorde Road meets the Valorde-Canth Road at Valorde Junction, in the center of this small country town. Valorde North Road runs northward out of town from this same junction, and about 100 lengths to the north one may find the joining of this North Road with the Fairfield-Valorde Road. The meetings of all these important routes explain the location of the town, and in former times it was even larger and busier than it is today.

The east side of Valorde encompasses the Valorde Tavern north of the Valorde Canth Road, and the strong and well-guarded Valorde Tower south of that road. The house near the tower belongs to the guard who generally is on duty in the tower, protecting travellers from the numerous goblins and orcs that actually can roam right into the town--particularly at night. Visitors are advised to be on their guard against these dangerous creatures at all times while in the town.

The west side of Valorde includes the well-known Alrik's Meats shop, where fine cuts of sometimes questionable origin can be purchased from Alrik for very reasonable prices. The rumors that he sells orc as well as chicken and mutton may be kept in mind, but hungry travellers sometimes must take chances far out in these western lands. There is also a Smithy where adequate repairs to weapons may be arranged, also for a reasonable fee.

Southwest of the town, south from the Valorde-Canth Road, one may spend a pleasant and productive day fishing at the delightful Lake Valorne, though as always, any such outing should include well-armed persons who remain vigilant against marauding beasts despite what seems to be a pleasant afternoon.
