Road from Canth across the Clarion River to the Eastway Junction

From Canth this Road runs almost due east for more than 600 lengths, at which point the Canth East Tower Trail leads steeply uphill to the imposing fortified tower watching over this stretch of road. Fear of this tower may explain why few travellers actually see goblins and such creatures along this strech of road, for which the ever-vigilant Canth watchmen certainly can be thanked.

About 150 lengths beyond the trail to the Canth East Tower, the road turns to the northeast and begins to climb a twisting course up into the hills that border the Clarion River's west bank in this region. At the top of the ridge, as the road turns back due east, one suddenly will see the broad Clarion River itself sweeping majestically down from the northlands, and the road running straight down-hill to the ford. At this writing there is no bridge, so after swimming the strong current, travellers will have to walk back upstream to where the road meets the east bank of the river. A short distance up the slope from the river along the road will bring you to the junction with the Clarion Eastway, the ancient Hadren Eastway running north from Hadren to the northern wilds along the river's eastern bank. A small and hardy community, Eastway Junction, somehow hangs on and survives a short distance down the Eastway to the south--you may find ale and a bed in the old Inn there, and a Smithy offers some hope of repairs to weapons and horse-shoes.
