A Guide for Visitors to Canth Town

If you are coming from Valorde in the west, you will have a view of Canth from the higher country west of town. The hills that lie between Valorde and Canth give way as you approach the town, broadening out into a fair valley that stretches away northward as well as to the south toward Untharin Abbey.

The Valorde-Canth Road meets the Canth-Clarion River Road in the square at the center of Canth Town. The visitor to Canth receives every indication that there are far more sheep than persons dwelling in this place, for the sheep wander about the town as well as blanketting the plains nearby with their flocks. Watch your step in the Canth Town Square!

In addition to the airy and hospitable Canth Tavern and Inn standing beside the Square, one also will find Muridoic's Shop, also adjacent to the Square and not far away. Muridoic is actually the uncle of Bunthorne, the halfling in Fairfield who produces paper--Muridoic taught him all about the kenaf plants, and is also a great lore-master concerning other herbs, potions, poisons, and the kingdom of plants in general.

There is no tower or other fortification in Canth Town itself, but a short distance to the east, a sturdy tower stands just north of the Canth-Clarion River Road. A low ridge lies between Canth Town and its tower, but from some of the higher roof-tops in town an agile person may catch a view of Canth East Tower from Canth Town, just on the eastern horizon.
