Katlinel successfully penetrated Neriak a third time Sunday, backed up by Lord Castro and several of the battle-company of the Light.

Jaelithe, a mysterious ambassador from the hitherto unknown city of Marea, beneath the Timorous Deep, arrived in the city of Neriak and met with the Lady Kyrisis of the Foe.  Jaelithe said that she represented the Empress Antonius Helena Bayle of the 23rd Dynasty of the Combine Empire.  A curious mask around her neck, not unlike the gnomic aqualung or "rebreather" lent credence to her tale, as did her rich gifts to Queen Cristos Thex.

She said she knew that the Queen's Seers had uncovered powerful magic in "The City of the Fallen" and was willing to trade for it.  "There is much that we could each you,"she said.  Kyrisis hedged, unwilling to trust this mysterious woman.  The ambassador thus gifted her with a prophesy from the Oracle of Marea -- "The City of the Free shall not fall so long as the Daughter of the Empire dwelleth there".
