ROARS

Forces of Light’s First Iksar

First hatching in Cabilis, her world was made known only through the cruel and sanguine heritage of Cazic-Thule, the Faceless. Her elders taught her their history of enslavement that lasted centuries, breeding resentment to all other races. She watched her young brothers and sisters grow in the ways of evil, developing personalities of no tolerance or mercy for "lesser" races.

On an early exploration she stumbled into Firiona Vie, the beautiful outpost of light on her continent of Kunark. The light that shone out of this city drew her curiosity, and she swam all around the walls seeking a peek at what she could not have. Finding nothing but scorn and hatred for her hide, she barely slithered out alive, crawling pathetically up the mountain river toward her home. Her elders scolded her and told her that if she kept this up, she would be dead before she was skilled enough to kill a heartsting scorpion. Her brethren pleaded with her to not anger Cazic-Thule. She knew, however, that this miraculous sparing of her life did not come from her Lord of Fear. She did not accept this fate she was given and wished to gain acceptance by other races for who she was and not for her evil maker. Her name was Iskaki, but her elders gave her the name "Roars" due to her rebellious cries against Cazic-Thule. Master Raska painted the diamond on her head marking her independent and unorthodox spirit.

Having no accepting race other than her own Iksar kind, she sought after the Swifttails, the reptilian monks. Roars trained hard as a young monk, crafting her body to be sharp and fast, capable of surviving the lonely wilderness she would encounter when traveling to unwelcoming lands. One day, she gathered a supply of muffins and milk and her staff and walked away from the great gates of Cabilis, leaving behind her leisurely swimming and fishing of Cabilis’s canals and sitting on curskin by Klok campfires.

Arriving in the great mountains of Butcherblock, Roars dodged anything without scales and tail (pretty much everything), running frantically toward the cover of the forest in the distance. After many close encounters, she found herself finally within the shelter of the Greater Faydark’s trees. Her first meeting with a Crushbone orc was not pleasant for the orc, for she immediately recognized the evil within it and ended its miserable existence. Roars swore to never attempt alliance with this culture. This turned the eye of a watchful Wood Elf Scout of Tunare, the one and only Wryn of Forces of Light, which evaded Roars’s eye. Wryn brought word to Kelethin, the tree city of Wood Elves, and the elders of the city laughed at the young Rogue, but kept a curious ear. "We will see what comes of this scaled fiend," Tylfon told her. "Keep an eye about her."

And thus begins the young Iksar’s quest for acceptance among Norrath. Roars had trembled and hid, but now grows stronger and stronger, more and more courageous. Many elves, fighting alongside Roars against the Crushbone orcs begin to put their trust in her and invite her into their battle parties. Wryn, watching this all from a tree, finally approaches Roars and leads her safely through the woods to the Wizard Spires, where Castro awaits . . .

UPDATES!

10/27/00 00:00
Roars gains acceptance into Kelethin, after four long seasons of proving her worth. Some villagers still refuse to look past their racist viewpoints, including Banker Willaen, who shall most likely never see the big picture. Roars gathers her things she had hidden in the forest (whatever remained of her muffins and some fresh milk from Kelethin), and what money she had made and trods off out of the forest and back through the mountains from which she had come.

11/8/00 01:00
Roars gains acceptance into Rivervale. Now she has her first visit to her bank outside of Kunark, which GREATLY increases her AC because she has to carry a whole lot less. Here she can stock up on shurikens and practice trade skills (tailoring). She will use this spot in the middle of Antonica as a safehaven to recuperate after she continues to seek Highpass and Freeport.

11/22/00 00:00
Roars becomes Master Blacksmith in Cabilis, where she visits for a short time to work on smithing and brewing.

12/01/00 00:00
Roars gains acceptance into Highpass. She is pleased to finally enter Lord Balar's Keep after a long hard test of worth leading groups of fighters against the Shralok Orcs, keeping the Pass safe. She finds her favorite muffins which she had not seen since Kunark.

12/24/00 14:00
Roars meets Rexton, a fellow Swifttail, in her homeland's Lake of Ill Omen, where they pair up to fight against the plauging goblins. Firiona Vie approves, but does not yet recognize her efforts.

01/01/01 ??:??
Roars and Rexton travel across Norrath to Everfrost and Blackburrow. They work together for acceptance into Qeynos, and prepare to grapple the diffucult task of passage into Halas.

05/10/01 03:00

In her 41st season, Roars finally gains acceptance into The Overthere's dark race Outpost, Kunark, after 10 long seasons of collecting war braids from sarnak berzerkers (80 sets of 4). She knows of no other Iksar to have accomplished this feat, and receives rather strange looks from visiting Dark Elves. Now that she can turn in braids without fear of death, bank, sell, and stock, she launches full throttle into obtaining her Discipleship. An undead foreman of the Outpost has even agreed, in 10 seasons, to present her with a magical hammer, giving her the ability to port to her homeland at will. Halas and Firiona Vie have stubbornly refused to give her opportunity to prove herself, despite her efforts, but the Outpost has relieved her drive to enter Firiona Vie, and Halas seems of lesser importance in the rising need to grow in preparations for the coming wars . . .

(OOC To ward confusion, Roars is from Wryn's account)
