The Guktan Army

The news had spread like a magical wind. Grobb had fallen to the frogloks, and not just any frogloks, but to a transformed, chosen minority blessed by Mithaniel Marr himself.

Ever since Zephyrx had taken over watching the Light, the Forces have been led by Tunare's creation instead of Marr's. Both were of the Light, but recent events had probably come to the guild's knowledge because of the change. Tunare still had a part in what was changing power of races in the southeastern corner of Antonica, but it was mostly Marr's strength sweeping through the swamp that horrible day for the Trolls.

A surge in the Light was forseen by those most devoutly following Mithaniel's way, and Zephyrx had been informed by them some time before. She had not expected a surge at such a scale as this, however. Eldorath was the first to tell their leader of the froglok's attack on Grobb, and she immediately teleported from her training in the Planes down to the swamps of Innothule.

The very air smelled of battles fought, won and lost. Fallen Trolls littered the bog, as did the bodies of the strange, new amphibians. Zephyrx stared in awe at the power of Marr, having not remembered such a power bestowed upon a Norrathian creature in her lifetime. She moved south, ready to cloak herself in the illusion of a Troll to gain pass, but was startled as the small green frogloks donned in plate armor guarded Grobb's entrance. They gave her no heed, as they were dutifully scanning th swampland with their ultravision for signs of dark trespassers. She passed through the city's gate for the first time without enchantment.

Just within the city, adventurers of good and evil milled about. Froglok guards fought valiantly to protect their new outpost, and didn't seem to need help at all. They had truly been blessed by the hand of Marr! Her mission was not with this matter, however, and she moved further within, glancing at a hastily-tacked hide that read, "Gukta, Outpost of Marr."

Froglok and Troll corpses were scattered about. Meeting up with Eldorath, the two High Elves explored the area. Zephyrx marveled at the new creatures, having never seen such a variance in color before. They were built stronger and more dexterous than their cousins in Guk. Guards stood watch over cages that held Troll prisoners. Some others wearing robes were meditating. Others peered over counters from on top of boxes shoved behind them and were gathering wares and setting up shops to supply the defenders. Intelligence and bravery shone from the eyes of every one.

Zephyrx approached a pool deep within the outpost and looked down into it. This pool had been cleaned with a sort of magic, stinking nothing like Troll, and had hundreds of tiny multi-colored tads swimming around within. She had a feeling many more pools all over Grobb would soon look like this. Their numbers would grow quickly! The High Elf crouched down in the sodden vegetation and put a hand over the pool, whispering a blessing of Tunare. Her hand began to glow, and a small handful of swimmers moved to the surface just beneath. Yes,t hese few would join the Forces!

An aqua-colored froglok stepped beside her and smiled, blinking its black eyes thoughtfully, watching. "They will spawn a new generation of our kind," it croaked softly.

Zephyrx looked up and studied the creature, and she realized that this one was female. Her shoulders were slimmer, eyes rounder, than the ones she had seen throughout most of Grobb.

"You are female. What is your name? I have seen so few of you…"

"I am Sannina Geego. And yes, there aren't many now, as half lay dead in the swamp from battle. But we will recover, praise Marr!" She squatted down easily on her long, shiny legs and gazed down into the pool, watching the baby frogloks move about almost excitedly under Zephyrx's hand, and pointed. "Those there are mine! They will venture all over Norrath, as we have been given a desire to prove our valor and search for truth. They will become heroes themselves! I will be so proud of them one day!"

The Elf of Light smiled to herself, speaking softly, "So will I, Sannina. So will I."

The Quest was given to me many months ago to Seek out the Ancient Cyclops, slay him and remove his ring. Once I had removed his ring I was sent to seek out a gnome whom would take this ring and a large sum of gold, and in return give me a pair of boots that would aid in my running speed.

Only 2-3 months ago I was in the Southern Desert of Ro seeking out an Ancient Cyclops. I was successful, I found him emerging from a cave unseen by all, near the Dervish encampment. With a few thrusts of Excelsior (my war lance) The thing Crumpled to a heap on the floor. I looked around Seeing if anyone had assisted me in the kill, (people trying to KS me) noting a monk just out of his 30th season had assisted in the death I informed him that another would be along to seek the killer of his brother. In a day or so.(EQ time) Taking the Girdle from the Husk I quickly threw it into my backpack, and headed off to Freeport to make a withdrawl. With 3000 gold in my posession my journey was dangerous, all the young and innocent coming up to me asking for funds to aid them in there new career as an adventurer. The Weight didn't really affect me having the strenght of a giant aided my mission. I then began on the long journey to Rathetear Mountains to seek out this Gnome.
The Journey was short, with the aid of a friendly Druid speeding body with a canine spirit.
Once in Rathetear I seeked out the Little fellow who would give me the prize I hunted in the Desert for so long for. After an hour of running around the Giant infested hills I ran into him. I hailed him down and spoke of the Ring. He made me a deal which would cost me the ring and a large sum of cash. I handed over the funds and recieved My Prize.

At last I had become a Knight to the Forces of Light.

The tournament of skill has been removed as a planned event due to lack of interest: "Date to be announced - Tournament of Skill - teams of three shall contest in a tournament of combat skill. Come meet Ambassador Jaelithe, Prove your skill in combat. This will be held in the Arena (off Lake Rathe). Each team should try and have a tight level range (only a few levels from highest member to lowest member) and must register in advance (send e-mail to Balar). We plan to charge an entrance fee (perhaps 2 PP per level) and will give out rewards for the best performance. Additional details will be worked out as we get teams signed up.."

A great day, was had by all that joined myself in Cobolt Scar. Our aim was to resupply the guild bank with some gear. After a shaky start and a few unnecessary deaths, we managed to break the spawns at one of the Othimir camps. We amassed a small fortune in cash and gems, plently of crusty armour to handed down to guildies, a spell and a few velious quest gems.

Thanks again for those that helped make this a successful day.

Advice for all you wanna be clerics out there DO NOT i repeat NO DONT start cxasting complete heal at 1/2 a red bubble, then use the excuse of Dangie says "wow that spell takes a long to cast"

Lake of Ill Omen

While hunting and standing guard in the Lake of Ill Omen, I received word from our observers that agents of darkness were headed my way. So, I repositioned my post and intently watched the road below. After what seemed like ages, I watched two dark figures approach. It was Cidionn and Summersennd. I have scouted and gathered intelligence from these two before, so I knew them on sight.

I followed the evil pair, at a distance, for several leagues. When they eventually set camp, for the dark hours were approaching, I crept close, so as to hear their evil chatter. While I was crouching, preparing for an uncomfortable evening, so close to evil, I was set upon by a gray wolf. I knew at once, on seeing the evil behind its eyes, that this was Cidionn.

I fought the foe, whilst fearing the dark warrior Summersennd would hear our battle and come to aid Cidionn. Suddenly, darkness drew all around me. I felt my soul screaming for the light when suddenly Wooddiey appeared. I knew that with the strength of the darkness that surrounded Wooddiey, my soul was in peril. In the instant that Cidionn turned to greet the unwholesome Wooddiey, I stole into the night.

I heard the dark trio searching for me, but with my skills, the will of Tunare and a little luck, I was able to escape certain death. I fear that the dark forces have some plan to set in motion, but I regret that I was unable to ascertain to what end.

I have now moved into the safety of the light and the goodness of Tunare so that I may heal, regain my strength and train for my next encounter with the darkness.

The next time I will not fail!

The messages from our message board regarding the passing of Safka have been permanently saved as a memorial page.

Monday December 10, 2001

I write this within my camp on the Plains of Karana. It appears that elements from Opal Darkbriar with help from members of the Forces of Darkness have convinces the general population to shun me. Furthermore, Brother Gentry ressurected Lucen De'lire in a dark ceramony. With his return the Freeport Miltia successfully drove back our forces from the Eastern and Western Portions of Freeport. While we still hold the Northern Districts, Lucen is doing his best to prevent supplies from reaching the garrison. If something is not done soon I fear that even Freeport North will fall.

Because I can not seem to reverse the views of the general populus of Freeport against me I am resigning my Position of Lord of Freeport and commander of the Commonlands. With Lord Kieels permission I have taken the unoccupied postiton as the Far Western Commander and taken control of the City of Qeynos. Even though I have found oppostion from both the Bloodsabers and the Corrupt Guard I have managed to get control of the rebellious factions and forced the bloodsabers back into hiding.

I hope this message reaches you and the new master of High Hold Keep. I do not trust the League of Anatonican Bards though and will have a young follower of the faith deliver the message.

Thursday November 1, 2001

My friends,

Word has reached me of another land that is in serious need of leadership. The realm of Albion has lost it's king and is now hard pressed by their enemies. I shall need the bravest and most patient of you to journey with me to this land to restore order.

This journey will no doubt be long. And it will be expensive to equip us for this journey, but fear not for I believe this journey is important and will be rewarding spiritually for all who make it. We shall meet with their current king at their round table, which I hear is a symbol of justice. So prepare yourselves and report to me which of you will journey with me to the fair city of Camelot.

Lord Balar,

Yesterday Bauvier, one of our finest Paladins was by magiks unknown brought under the with Kaee's powers. A great battle ensued as Bauvier attacked Kieel attempting to slay him as his master Kaee commanded. Bauvier was overcome with the help of the Forces of Light, but you can be sure that Kaee will bring him back from the nether world to do her bidding again. The source of Kaee's enchantment is unknown, but Zephyrx's reasearch of arcane knowledge has hinted that an ancient magical tome may hold the key to unlocking this enchantment. Unfortunatly the whereabouts and owner of this tome of ancient knowledge are at this time unknown.

Your Humble Servant,
- Kieel

Hail Lord Balar,

With Bauvier charmed to drakness it seems as though time have really gone bad in our Forces. I had once heard of an acient Tome that Najena herself hides on her body. With this revalation I am planning an attempt to go recover it this Sunday. I will lead the charge into the depths of her Lair and the Dragon Lady Roars informed me that she will assist us if we run into any trouble we can not handle. We feel that with this Tome and Zephyrx knowlage of the arcane magics we will be able to break Kaee's charm and bring Bauvier back to the side of Light. For now we should be weary of Kaee and her forces as she has obviously obtained power that we can not look at lightly. I feel that we should try to keep in pairs if possible and inform the troops to keeps there eye's open for any suspiciuos activity as we feel that we might have spy's in our force currently!

Dear Lord Balar,

I have ventured to the spirocs with Luminai, where she has said Selion, her dear fiance, must be held. As we approached the outskirts of the great spiroc tree, Luminai seemed confused, looking at the ground and sniffing the air, and told me she could track no trace of Selion in the area. I told her to wait where she was, as the spirocs no doubt knew she was looking for him, and scaled the great tree with only dubious looks from the spirocs. I could find no trace of him either.

Selion must be held somewhere else... they have hidden him well, for he was not where we assumed he must be, for the island of the Deep is the only location known to me to be populated with spirocs. I spoke with Zephyrx about this, and she told me she had noticed a strange edginess about the aviaks in the Rathe Lake... he must be there! The aviaks and spirocs must be aligned, which doesn't come to a surprise. As to why both types of avarian species have stolen Selion, this yet remains a mystery.

I shall set up a force to confront the aviaks of Rathe Lake. I will take trackers to help sense his presence. If the aviaks resist, we will know they are hiding him, and will show no mercy to all who oppose our finding our missing wizard!

Your faithful ambassador,
Roars

Monday October 29, 2001

With many of our members looking at "Dark Ages of Camelot" as a potentially significant improvement over Everquest we have started a webpage to organize our friends in the world of Camelot.

Thursday October 25, 2001

M'lord,

There has been an emergency! Selion has been to Timorous Deep! We were strolling along the wall when suddenly, some aviaks jumped out of the water and attacked Selion! Try as we might, we were not able to fend them off. Selion told me to hide and save myself. Despite my protests, he insisted, saying that that was the only way I could save him. Oh, Lord Balar, our wedding is coming soon, and I simply must have him back! Please, you must deploy our forces and save him!

~Luminai

Roars,

Would you please organize a force to respond to Luminai's plee? I am busy organizing a rescue for Cherryh and I need your assistance for this matter. Please keep me informed.

Wednesday October 24, 2001

After hours of debate the gods decided to bless our forces with the name "Starfire" in the lands of Firiona Vie. There was a mighty debate among the gods over this issue but finally Brell won out saying that the strength of the Forces of Light shone as brightly as the fire of the stars. This seems fitting for, after all, it was under the Starfire banner that Balar was first called upon to defend High Hold and lead the Forces of Light. We shall now travel the lands of Firiona Vie and show how brightly our light shines!

My Lord Balar,

As I was investigating the lands of Overthere and helping to maintain the animal population I was involved in a brief encounter with a member of the dark forces. He claims he has our fair Cherryh and that she will never be returned to us. His claims also included statements of her being content to remain along the wicked. I am not convinced that our Cherryh would ever want to sing her beautiful songs to the evil. I expressed to him that I should require seeing this matter with my own eyes.

As I believe he is a young and ambitious follower of darkness I feel some of our young and ambitious should be gathered to investigate the insinuation. It appears they have her heavily influenced by whatever means necessary but again only an investigation would prove the claims validity. I also feel a rescue mission has been delayed for far too long and training must begin to retrieve her. After brief words with the evil Lad and very few of my questions answered he disappeared with out a trace.

The Darkness must never overcome the Light!

Tuesday October 23, 2001

Balar, Delora, Kianer, Rutroh and Beryll have made their way to Qeynos (on Firiona Vie). Tomorrow we hope to officially forge our fellowship in a meeting with the humans.

A development in the Cherryh plot:

M’Lord,

I must be brief, for the big brute Jonney will be back shortly, looking for more “entertainment”. It seems this guy Jonney is some new guy in the Forces of Darkness. He came here from Halas and was immediately contacted by that scummy Sunaien. They thought I was asleep, but I heard them talking about Cherryh. It seems Jonney is going to take her to some bandit camp in the plains just south of Qeynos. Poor Cherryh! She must be in terrible condition after all these months at the hands of Sunaien.

Oh oh, here comes that barbarian Jonney again. I can hear him stumbling up the stairs to the bedroom. (He drinks too much ale) I’ll keep an ear open and let you know when he plans to take Cherryh to her “gig”.

Meeni

And a new plot develops....

Kaee slips in to the city under the cover of darkness this is not her normal way of going about business but today it is not normal business but a dark one, One that could lead to her own death.

Finding the secret meeting place she stops and checks that there is no one following, no it all looks clear, out of the darkness steeps Ghorr a large troll a old time friend of kaee’s and one she knows and trusts, and would never hand her in to Carer for what they where about to do.

There is a note passed from Ghorr to Kaee she opens it and smiles she says in a low voice “ it has started then” and they both slip away back into the darkness.

Tuesday October 16, 2001

The first group of our Fellowship has travelled from Kaladim to Freeport to Rivervale. We now ready ourselves to travel to the great city of Qeynos where we hope to recruit many humans to our Fellowship.

Guilds are now available to be formed on Firiona Vie. Please send suggestions for an alternate guild name for the "good alliance" on FV. I'd like to use a guild name that is a single word this time. Ideas are "Fellowship" or "Alliance". Please e-mail ideas for a name for us to Balar. We will plan to gather ten of us to get the guild formed in the next day or two.

Rumor of an Iskar formation organizing in the lands of Firiona Vie (Saturday the 20th at 7 PM Central). Who knows what plans they have, but we must organize our forces to prevent them from invading the rest of Norrath! Balar shall continue to try and build an alliance of the "good" races of Norrath.

Saturday October 13, 2001

With donations from Ruttroh (500 PP) and Eloiran (100 PP) our guild treasury is now approaching 4000 PP! Good work and thanks guys!

Wednesday October 10, 2001

I've been told that the "Mail" quests are broken (confirmed by GM). This may only apply to the Firiona Vie server but it might also be all servers.

Monday October 8, 2001

Balar and Delora and friends have started our presence on "Firiona Vie". We could use a halfling warrior to join our small group. Balar, Delora and Kianer have travelled across the sea to Freeport (now level 2) and soon will make their way to Misty Thicket.

Thursday October 4, 2001

In preparation for the new roleplay server going live we have a page dedicated to helping to organize our guilds on the new server. Follow our link for our guild info on "Firiona Vie". Note: from what Verant has said guilds will NOT be able to officially form initially.

Congrats to Journeyman Eloiran for being the first to obtain the title of Journeyman.

The guild treasury continues to build. We now have 3208 PP in guild funds!

A letter of explanation from Kieel:

Hail Lord Balar,

Several days ago as I was returning to High Keep from investigating rumors of Forces of Darkness activity in Runnyeye I came upon a wood-elf named Utania. She was weeping near the trail so I stopped to ask her what the problem was. She replied that a goblin alchemist had invaded her hut and had captured her children and was preparing to eat them! Being the devout paladin that I am I could not deny my aid to this damsel in distress. This being the case I followed Utania to her hut in the Misty Thicket. When we arrived at her hut Utaina informed me of a plague the goblin was prepared to use as a last defense. She then gave me a potion that she had prepared that would make me immune to this plague should he attempt to use it. I called upon Erolissi to bless me before the battle and then Imbibed this supposed salve.

After drinking the potion I began to swoon and blacked out. When I awoke I was stirred by an abhorrent hatred welling from deep within me. I could tell it was wrong but I was helpless to stop this berzerker rage that overtook me. Then Innoruuk himself appeared before me and laid his hand upon my Soulfire. When he did the fiery blade extinguished and turned black as pitch. He then touched my forehead and I passed out yet again. While in this comatose state I was aware of Innoruuk whispering into my ear. Visions of war and death filled my head. I saw myself seated upon a black steed riding on the forefront of a great battle. Legions of Ghouls, Zombies, and other undead followed behind me. Then time itself seemed to shift and I again saw myself sitting on Innoruuk's right, inside the Temple of Marr in Freeport. Its alabaster walls had turned black, and its once pure water flowed blood red.

Again I awoke this time in Rivervale. The rage I felt burned to my very soul and I made haste to High Pass to do the very deed whispered in my ear by Innoruuk. In my mind I heard the legions of undead chanting in a horrendous cacaphony "Balar musssst dieeee!" over and over they chanted till my mind was numb. I fought as best I could but my will was not strong enough to break this dire enchantment.

I entered High Pass and found you there milord. I attacked you with great fury and wept the whole while. I attacked several of my commrades, and even slayed poor Kaven. But the power of the light washed over me, as the morning overtakes the night, and the many blows rained upon me weakend my body and mind, allowing this enchantment to be broken. I thank you all for forgiving me and understanding that I was not of my right mind. After all were healed and made well Mykil and I set out to find this Utania, so that she could be brought to justice. Mykil, using his knowledge of eartly magics, transported us to the Misty Thicket. We ran to Utania's hut, only to find unbroken ground which had apparently been undisturbed for many years.

I have no doubt that this Utania is affiliated with some way with the Forces of Darkness. Should anyone see her beware for her power is mysterious and great.

- Kieel

Tuesday September 18, 2001

Again our forces gathered for a homecoming in High Hold. Unfortunately Kieel had accepted a brew from one of the Forces of Darkness witches (we believe Utania, possibly Hecuva) which charmed him and lead him to attack Balar and the rest of the forces. We were able to beat sense into him but it was a serious battle. Kieel proved his battle worthiness as it took well over six of us to subdue him.

Sunday September 16, 2001

I've added a link to "Darkfall". It sounds very much like our own production (Pernica) and might be one of the best upcoming new games. We hope they are successful, it sounds like they have some great ideas.

A very encouraging report from Roars:

Destinyrein tells the guild (paraphrase), "Let's have a party in the arena!" Would you believe the response! Members loved the idea, and flocked to the nearest airport. I quickly told Zephyrx, who went to party/duel/buff, who later told me her story....

"Forces of Light enjoyed a day at the arena, even though we had to share it with Club Fu (many were afraid of being caught in the line of fire, etc). Members drank, buffed, played, sparred, kited one another, tested spells on one another, got buffed more... all in all had a good time! I understand from what Mykil told me is that a couple people died from DoT's, but these did not affect experience! He says it's an Arena thing . . . Good to know for the future!"

"Some may have thought this type of location to "have a party" may enstill a negative, competative spirit between members, but it seemed to have the opposite effect. Everyone seemed to behave, and respected each other in the PvP area. I must admit it gave me a laugh to see Barfadin slugging along, hauling roots that had clutched his feet... saying meekly, "I'm being kited!" This was an exploited opportunity for members to get to know one another, to see what kind of spells and combat techniques other classes could cast, and for adventurers to train in how to use their own skills, and all in all a respectable PvP experience."

"We were able to share with Club Fu, for they respected our presence (we stayed out of their way well enough, as the PvP floor was quite large), and could not travel there had wished they could attend, as the guild porters were somewhat "busy" in combat, and the young ones weren't exactly easy to get to, and it would be over by the time the porter got back ... Who was it who had mentioned this idea anyway? Oh yes, Destinyrein!"

The same blue lady whose heroism will be remembered by every victim she pulled from the clutches of the evil and completely wild Cazic-Thule monsters of the Plane of Fear. Needing half a dozen resurrections to keep her going, Destinyrein showed nothing but care for her fellow guild members, as she could have gated away at any time with any excuse ... she was surely beat, as were we all at the end of the 7 hour rescue mission (I think 1 monster total was killed, but only 'cause it wandered too close). I would like to thank her from the deepest part of my heart, for I was one of those victims!

I am pleased to give you, Lord Balar, with this report of excellence and good conduct. I hope it brightens your day just a little bit =)

Lord Balar,

The new moon ... I have heard rumors from the soothsayers from the Plane of...

The seers speak of our peoples awakening to a new reality as the final Connection to Luclin has been reached. At that point, the moon will radically span its magiks across our lands and into each and every one of us. Our eyes will be opened as we will see as we have never before, in a new light! It is time for Forces of Light to be known, as many will be confused and may turn to darkness or light. We must be there to keep the darkness from swallowing them up!

I have heard of horses being very plentiful on the moon, and have been long keepers of these beasts will flock to the cities of our lands in quite a rush, breeding their herds and making their fortunes among our peoples! The seers speak of visions of a master summoning his "steed" with a magical whistle, and travelling across great distances by actually *riding* on their backs!

I have learned from the Kejekan of Stonebrunt Mountains, a recently discovered valley locked away by the kobold pack, of the Kejekan ancestors, the Vah`Shir. This ancient feline race inhabits a part of Luclin, and I hear many of their young are eager to spring upon Norrath in hopes for adventure as soon as the great Connection is made.

A great day of power and wonder awaits us all ... I only hope our races will not find this as opportunity to war against each other in time of confusion and threat to what is known, but will unite in peace as a greater reality and common goal becomes. My duty as ambassador of my kind will grow in importance, as will the duties of others. I shall steal away into meditation as I prepare for the Awakening.

Your Loyal Lizard,

Roars

A note from Roars:

I know we have a good number of members on www.everquestraids.com. I spent a couple hours figuring out how to make a profile-sized pic, and am finally able to make a fairly nice one in a short amount of time. I made a couple them for the profiles of my two registered characters, and am offering to make them for any other registered guild members to post on their profiles (You can view them when you log onto eqraids and do a Guild Search, then find FoL and click on the registered member list).

If you would like me to make you a pic and don't know where on the web to stick it (it asks you for the web address of your pic):

1) Find a screenshot with a pic of yourself that you would like to have made into an "icon" size. It doesn't matter what size u start with, but it will eventually be made into 60x60 pixels, so make sure your face on the source screenshot would be big enough to give yourself merit in the tiny size.

2) Crop the .bmp down enough, if you know how, that it won't take forever to send and for me to download (dial up here), but u don't have to crop it down to exactly what you want either. I will play with it to make sure it looks good anyway.

3) Send the file to me, XKnight@xfilesfan.com, along with any specific instructions on what you want (reasonable effects, content), if any.

When complete, I will send you back via the same email address the web address to put in the Picture URL field on your eqraids profile (I'm gonna post 'em on my own webspace so you don't have to). Also, if you see Roars (or Zephyrx, she will tell me) online, let her know if you have sent a mail, 'cause I'm in Norrath everyday, but I don't check my email everyday... (sad, really).

You can check out our registered guild list here (I hope the link works, anyway):

Again our forces battled into Mistmoore. Unfortunately evil is well entrenched there and we suffered serious losses.

Feir'dal Rangers watching the pass into Lesser Faydark have intercepted the following:

A scruffy gnome carrying an encoded message to Neriak. The gnome died shortly after capture from a violent disease. The Rangers who caught the gnome were able to deliver the note before they two fell to the same disease. Koade'vie priests of Tunare were able to contain it before any harm to the Populations of Greater Faydark could occur.

The Wizards of Felwithe were able to partly decode the message,

We of ______ have come _____ a means for ______ a possible ______. With the help of your dark f __ ces we should be able to com_lete ___ spell and ____ across the commons, effectivly keeping the _____ Freeport from _____ Highpass in a _____ attack.

Castro brings us news that there is a new troublesome gnome necromancer by the name of "Smutch" that is apparently working on releasing a plague.

Last night we learned of more FoD treachery as Mykil disclosed some information about FoD's latest plot. Mykil, Kieel, Locoh and Lluen proceeded to RunnyEye in an attempt to prevent FoD from making an alliance with the Goblin King. Unfortunately when they arrived they found that Gallowbraid was already there. We are unsure of what Gallowbraid accomplished but she did declare RunnyEye to be FoD territory.

Mykil lead us in a raid on Befallen a couple of days ago. Look for more lower level raids very soon. We shall be raiding RunnyEye tonight.

A note from Field Commander Castro:

Milord,

Thank you for the warm welcome upon my return from Kelethin, I would like to report that I have made a full recovery.

I have journyed back to the ruins of Guk To continue my studies of that foul place. I still believe that Guk was a Combine Ruin, considering its location to the Lost temple of Cazic Thule, Also a Combine ruin. I still also believe that the Froglocks are cursed surviors of whatever became of the city founders.

I have found that in the deeps of the dungeon that the Froglocks have split into two factions, an undead faction that seems bent on destoying what is left of the ruin and definately followers of Cazic Thule. I have possesion of a dark and evil blade. The other faction of Living Froglocks follow their warped king and seem to be in alligance with vile minotaurs and evil eyes. neither factions are to be trusted. I still see Froglocks as a vile curse against the mighty Combine empire. I will continue to search for relics to prove my theory.

Kilarny has been selected to fill the role of "Steward" however he will be assuming the title "Sargent at Arms". If you are interested in obtaining a title quest please e-mail him at Kilarny and copy me (Balar). We will then work together to design a quest for you and will work with the officers to verify that the quest has been accomplished.

Kilarny will be away on a training mission from September 1st to September 6th. Please contact him prior to that and excuse his inability to respond during that time.
