Guild Vision
(as presented by Morkano)

The Forces of Light vs Forces of Darkness concept is approaching two years old now. We've had many players come and go as members of the leadership of these guilds. Each has lead with a slightly different vision, this is expected and acceptable. But we must remember that to continue building and to provide the most enjoyable experience for everyone we must accept each other's different desires and blend them together.
I'd like to state some of my ideas for the guilds to help provide a clearer common vision:
1) We welcome and encourage "roleplaying" - this encompasses anything other than "trying to win the game". Roleplaying games aren't about leveling, they aren't about "winning" they are about the "journey". When you are roleplaying your hatred of an enemy, make sure you do so in a manner that makes it clear you are in character (mix in a few out of character comments or a direct tell letting the person know and understand that you are enjoying the opposition between your characters).
2) Story and Plot are important but will have different interest to different players. All members should be aware of some of the plot lines and the major characters involved but are not expected to know the details of every plot.
3) Balar and the Forces of Light are our enemies. We are trying to conquer Norrath, Forces of Light are trying to stop us. Sometimes we battle them, but just as often (perhaps more often) we fight side by side with them against other foes for our own profit and gain.
4) Members are free to come and go as long as they maintain a good reputation within the guild. Sometimes players desire to advance more within the game system Verant has designed and feel that a strong guild can provide them with more opportunities. We don't discourage this, we encourage it and hope that our members will bring with them knowledge of our guild to other guilds and eventually lead to wider recognition and more friends.
5) We encourage multiple guild alliances and joint raids.
6) Powerleveling is not encouraged but it is commonly practiced. Powerleveling is often necessary for the greater good of all. A player may need some help catching up to their friends (or to get important porting spells). Don't fault players for desiring this as a way to get around Verant's poor game design. Always remember though the goal is friendship and the journey. If we aren't enjoying the game and are just leveling for leveling's sake we might as well not play.
