Some info from Carer to prepare for the Tower of Frozen Shadows raid:
Ok first raid is a high lvl one to the tower of frozen shadows as some of the members have been getting as many keys as they can I believe they are up to lvl four *Cheers* well done.
Ok this is a hard dungeon so be ready for a adventure and not a walk through.
Planed time is Saturday 19th 7pm (GMT) and will be running for 5 hours approx (I would like one porter to be there at the end if possible for a good getaway.
I have put below what is said about this zone (it is long but very good) but there is no map.
Or you can go to www.eqatlas.com
Description
The tower appears to be something of a school for the undead. There are at least seven levels, all of which require a key to move higher, that have undead on every floor. The tower's history is shrouded in mystery, but it appears that the once-living members of the tower were brought here to remain safe during the Erudite/Heretic war, but something unknown came to pass and left them cursed to remain here forever.
Info by Level
The keys are needed to go between every level as you move higher and higher into the tower. None of the keys are soul bound, so be prepared with an evac in case you lose your key holder. The keys are used by using the key on a mirror, which will teleport your group to the next level. There are also exit mirrors located on every floor that will teleport you to a place outside the tower if you need to leave. All the keys are no drop. The keys from floors 5 and 7 are also no rent. There is no key needed to get from level 6 to level 7.
The first level consists of a lot of shadowbone skeletons as well as the other undead listed. The Large Undead Gnoll who drops the key to the next level spawns after killing any of the shadowbones or undead gnolls anywhere on the level, although is far more common off of shadowbones. Occasionally killing the Large Undead Gnoll will cause three shadowbones or shadow beasts to spawn. There is also a portal to the 7th level, but that requires the highest level key to enter. Monsters here are 28th-31st level. The centre of the floor has a large pit which is easy to fall into because the floor is very slippery, although levitate will negate the effect. Three shadowbones await you in the pit, which is also difficult to get out of because of the slipperiness of the floor.
The second level (the "Library") appears to be a school filled with students and librarians. All of the creatures here appear like ghostly erudites, humans, and dwarves. Killing students will get the Angry Librarian to spawn, who holds the key to the third level. There is also a secret bookcase in the northwest corner which leads to a mirror that will take you outside. Monsters here in 30th-34th level. Virtually all of the creatures on this level are casters. There is a trapped bookcase next to the entry, which can be disarmed.
The third level (the Servant's Quarters) is filled with various types of undead, mostly armoured shadows and others. Killing the Enraged Shadowbeast will get you the key to the next level. There is a mirror here that is in the room with a bed that will take you to the outside. Monsters here are roughly 30th - 43rd level. This level is confusing because of many long corridors and false walls.
The fourth level (the Crypt) has mummies, oozes, and shadows. The room is maze like, and one can easily get lost down dead ends in it. A key to the fourth floor is required to reach the mirror to exit the tower, which is located behind a white door right near the entrance. There are several rares that spawn in an area near the exit (near the coffin) that give some very good loot. Killing Amonpheta is required to get Cara to appear for the key.
The fifth level (the Wedding) has many undead wedding participants that appear anywhere in the zone. The significant NPCs also appear anywhere in the zone. The bride (Daman) and the groom (Nosja) spawn most of the notable loot on this level, and appear in one fixed place with the priest. The mirror to take you back outside is located right where you appear in the zone. The key to the sixth floor drops from an enraged relative.
Note on the following two level areas, some people refer to the top two areas as levels 6, 7, and 8. Others refer to them as level 6 (which has two areas) and a level 7. Be aware of this because when someone says level 6 or 8, you can be pretty sure of what they're talking about, but if they say level 7 clarify if they mean the final level or not. I will refer to them as 6A and 6B and level 7.
The sixth level is divided into two separate areas (A and B). There are two areas, separated by a mirror that doesn't require a key to get through. Upon entering level 6, you are in area 6A and you can go to the right or to the left. To the left takes you to an area where there are Icy Shades, which you must kill in order to get the Ice Shade to spawn, which is a shade that summons a pet. Killing that monster will get Vhal'Sera to spawn in area 6B. This first area is also where the special Spirits spawn, and is also the location of some nasty traps, particularly the trap on the dragon statue. Going to the right after the entrance takes you up several stairs to a ledge overlooking the shade area. Walking too close to the edge will make all these shades aggro, so be careful. Passing through the mirror there requires no key and takes you to 6B which is where Vhal'Sera drops the key for the seventh level. In this area are shrouded bats which spawn enraged vampires immediately upon their deaths. Vhal'Sera itself is highly magic resistant.
The seventh level is the home of the most powerful monster in the Tower, Tserrina. This area is much smaller than many of the other levels, and consists of essentially a long corridor, with a large spiral staircase inside that leads to another small area. In the area where you enter the spiral staircase room is a tapestry, which is a fake wall. Behind this wall is the area where Tserrina appears, randomly appearing after one of the bats in the area appear. Tserrina is a very difficult creature to defeat, because she is completely resistant to all spells. She drops a key that can be used to bypass all the keys on all the floors, so that you can pass through the alternate mirror on level one and go directly to level seven.
There is also possibly an 8th level to the tower which requires a quest to obtain the key to enter.
Greetings Lord Zekan!
Icerose made 20 last night!! Although this is excellent news, it must be tempered with some concern for the company she has been keeping of late...
Indeed, my spies have seen her in the company of a..a..PALADIN *gasp!* in the Lake of Ill Omen (none other than Jera, the brattish sister of Katlinel!)
Not content with this, she has been spotted twice in the Estate of Unrest in the company of wood elves (two especially scrawny examples of their nasty tree-dwelling kind - the bard Mackenzie and the warrior Lunai) and yet another high elf (Athenia). Oh, the Enchanter Monk deserves honourable mention, too *laugh*.
I trust she will give a good account of herself (or rather, a most WICKED account!) when next we meet.
Meanwhile, I myself have been very busy proving to my Lord, my Queen and my Father that I am a worthy tool of His Hate. From pulling down (red!) giants assisted solely by my mighty axe, my magics and my bony companion to the slaying of the enemies of Venril Sathir in the Overthere...to my present adventures in the Crypt of Dalnir (mainly, my Lord, as a rest, you understand!).
Indeed, I am now 2 levels short from assuming the true mantle of Knight of The Dead (lv30), where I shall have mastered all of the skills and dread arcance arts (ooh! riposte & feign death!) needful in our coming war against the Light!
As for the coming week...well, my Lord, I understand your suggestion that we pull back from Kunark and concentrate our efforts in the Karanas. For it is true that the Bloodsabers are making excellent preparation for the coming of their Lord.
I grovel before your superior Hate,
Daneni Bayle,
Knight of The Dead

Carer was walking in her beloved home Nektulos, when her mind was filled with magic. It was one of her friends asking for help, as the Forces of Light was again bulling one of her guild members. "I will not stand for this she shouted", and with a quick flick of her fingers was ported to the city of Freeport, where her guild friend was under attack. But she was too late, the battle was already under way and all Mezzery could do now was to run from the two members of the Forces of Light attacking him.
When she had gathered herself and revised her spells she challenged the Knight Kieel, one of Mezzery's attackers to a duel. A fool as he is Kieel agreed to this but little did he know there was a bigger plan in Carers mind.
They shouted at each other for a bit to try and break the others morale, and then it was time to put words into actions, but poor Kieel had not seen what was just about to happen. For as soon as he attacked her the guards ran from their posts and cut him down within seconds. For Carer had not just paid them to let her in to the city this time she had used her power and riches to buy their loyalty, (maybe for a short time).
So know this members of the Forces of Light, you may still have Freeport north but the Forces of Darkness now have the freeport militia on their side. So when you go into Freeport next time keep a eye over your shoulders as you never know who is behind you.
/ooc this was a role playing event by Kieel, Mezzery and Carer the guards where trained on us by another player. I am sorry to say Kieel was slain by them, I made it to the zone but I am happy to say that he got a 49th lvl rez thanks to Mezzery.
*cheers Mezzery*
I would like to thank all that were involved in this event I know there was a other member of FoL sorry I lost my notes and could not name him.
Carer
(Member of the Forces of Darkness, leader of the death knights Zekans personal
guards, also Zekans loyal servant and slayer of Kieel)

Mini-event writeup:
It was a windy day and Carer was seeking to travel to the city of Freeport, knowing she would be safe there as she had paid the guards well, and gained their trust by slaying a unknown number of Orcs. As she came close to the gate house she could see there was going to be a problem, a holy knight by the name of Kieel was there. As soon as he spotted her he did shout "Carer you will not enter the city today to spread your evil ways". She replied with, "I will go where I want, when I want, and who will stop me". Kieel replied, "I will be the one to stand up to your evil ways". This sounded like a challenge to her and was ready to take him up on it so she shouted back "well then I challenge you". Kieel being a paladin of his word accepted this duel, by this time a crowd had gathered outside the gate to see these two powerful forces fight to the death. Carer started the battle by rooting her foe to the floor and sucking his life, as soon as his roots were broken Kieel jumped in to battle and started to cut at Carer's magical shields, Kieel knowing that he could not get past the magic started to dispel them much to Carer's dismay, he was able to deliver some heavy blows on Carer, then the battle turned back to Carer's favour she got of a number of powerful spells one of them turning Kieel into a skeleton, then she landed a last but devastating blow and crushed Kieel's body. Brave Kieel could not stand any more and fell to his knees but he still would not give in to her evil ways and he said "I will never surrender to you" with this act of defiance she cast her final spell and delivered the killing blow. At this point now she was free to enter the city unchallenged . This was a dark day for Freeport.
/ooc This was a role play mini event run by Carer and Kieel, to show the players in and around Freeport what our guilds are about, there was a lot more roleplaying involved and a crowd of some 10 to 15 player came to watch, we also had a number of players interested in our guild by the end of the event and had a number want to join the struggle.

Today's event again demonstrated why massive guildwars are troublesome. While I had over a half dozen people report that they were upset, overall this guildwar didn't go any worse than expected. Hopefully many of the newer players better understand some of the issues and problems we have with large wars.
The primary changes we recommend as a result of today's war are:
Overall the impression I have is that nobody likes being beaten quickly (or when they can't control themselves). Change your equipment, use a weapon that isn't your best, use a shield instead of a second weapon. Basically think defensive.
We will once again focus on trying to design smaller events that will pit one team of six against another team of six. (roughly) These events really need participation by players, our difficulty for well over a year has been a lack of participation and planning outside of the game. If you want to be involved let Zekan or Balar know (via e-mail) and we'll try to get you connected with the commander leading an event.

A message from Lord Zekan:
Greetings Fellow Warriors,
Like I promised you the time has come to teach the Forces Of Light, lead by
Balar, where the true power lies. My network of officers have been spreading
our word and the masses are flocking to follow me under our banner of darkness.
It seems that Carer's charismatic ways work well.
Now to the business at hand, my able trusted spy within FoL has told me Balar
fears for the safety of High Hold Keep and its citizens. He has summoned his
Knights to Freeport and will march to HHK to bolster its defences and to alert
the guards for our expected assault. I'm going to seize upon this opportunity
to attack Balar and his Knights enroute to HHK. Lets show this foolish Leader
that darkness never dies, only sleeps and grows stronger.
Till the day darkness covers all of Norrath,
Lord Zekan
OOC/ The meeting place will be the Zone Nek/EC at 3pm cst 9pm UK time. Please
make sure that you are bound close by, since guildwar will be activated and
death may occur. Unfortunalty during guildwar XP can be lost by death from a
pet/dot or a npc who decides to join in, if this isn't for you then please dont
turn up. I dont want to recieve a load of tells after battle moaning of level
lost etc. During Battle you will have 3 options (1) fight to the death (2) zone
out (3) run and shout surrender. Once any of these options have been used then
you are out of the story line. Yes you can gate away into same zone, hide, sneek
etc to recover health mana but once to surrender/die you are out. Also roleplay
the event if you are level 50 dont go nuking a level 5 find an opponent your
level and take them on.
On a more serious note, some of you I haven't grouped with before, I will not
hesiate to guild remove idiots there and then for abusive language, or generally
ruining the fun for others, roleplay banter is fine, but there is no need to
get personal or abusive. Also show Balar respect, I dont want their level 45
wizard nuking me to death in 1 hit so please dont do the same to him. Show all
opposing players respect, this is combat not slaughter - engage someone
near your own level.
In particular Balar and Zekan need to be able to lead and control the event, while they serve as focal characters around which to rally they should not be the focus of your attacks (don't kill either of them - they should be the last to fall).
Monday April 9, 2001
Zekan will be rallying our troops on Friday in Nektulos at the EC zone. Be prepared for combat!
Thursday March 29, 2001
My
Lord Zekan,
Humble greetings from your servant, Daneni Bayle, Shadow Group Commander. I am afraid our mission to eliminate the spy Antinime was something of a disaster.
Our hopes of trapping her in Freeport were dashed when we learned that a traitor had tipped her off (perhaps that Lady Shae again!!)
Learning from our agents that she had taken refuge in the abominable sanctuary of Erollisi Marr in the Ocean of Tears, we boarded a ship for that isle with all possible speed, sharpening our daggers gleefully along the way.
Alas, the wretched half elf had warned the Sisters of our presence and posted a vigilant guard upon the dock.
I was cut down as soon as the ship docked!
(There then followed a rather messy, lengthy corpse recovery, but the less said about that, the better. Let's just say that my Swimming, Sense Heading & Divination [Locate Corpse] all got considerably better! Advice: don't die on the boat!)
Needless to say, we shall deal with this traitor in Freeport as soon as possible and launch a new strike on the Marr Sanctuary as soon as we have recovered from our wounds!
Daneni Bayle,
Formerly of Qeynos,
Knight of The Dead,
Subversion Commander

A note from Zekan:
Greetings Fellow Followers Of Darkness,
For those of my army which fought by my side in Nektulos Forest, holding off
the FoL onslaught, then what I am about to say, you witnessed. Morkano has been
slain by my hand. I now assume command of the Forces of Darkness.
I have taken over leadership of guild, the whole command will be restructured,
loyal servants will be rewarded and Forces of Darkness shall once again challenge
FoL on equal ground.
For all of FoL might and power. Blackfear my personnel bodyguard answered my
summons and came to East Commons, unfortunately FoL had already scattered with
the exception of Bauvier and Toxy. While FoL where partying in Freeport. Blackfear
challenged Bauvier to a duel to the death. Bauvier being brave but stupidly
foolish accepted and was beat upon by Blackfear. Both fought well and with honor,
although I told Blackfear to do whatever was necessary to win. But eventually
Blackfear was too powerful and Bauvier was defeated.
Blackfear is my advisor, friend and my Dark Knight, he fights my battles for
me and will for you.
Forces Of Darkness Forever
Lord Zekan
Friday March 23, 2001
Our clever operatives were able to snatch Feeni as she lay sleeping in the Hogcaller's Inn. We took her right out of Castro's home city of Freeport. The ceremony was going as planned and soon Feeni's soul would be offered to Innoruuk and she would become Zekan's wife. But Balar and the Forces of Light stormed into Nektulos irate and upset.
We beat them at first upon the bridge, but they sneaked back into Nektulos and were able to steal Feeni back before the ceremony could be completed.
Zekan challenged Morkano for leadership of Forces of Darkness. They waged a fierce battle and in the end Zekan was victorious. Afterward Morkano's spirit was heard speaking from the heavens to insure that Zekan's leadership had Innoruuk's blessing.
Thursday March 22, 2001
Zekan's efforts have mobilized the Forces of Light against us! We must recruit quickly and prepare for battle!
Tuesday March 20, 2001
Fellow Warriors,
Today, myself and Mandible while seeking new recruits for our ever growing army, were in Befallen, too our surprise Roars and Rexton were there helping others to cleanse the undead. Insults were exchanged, and there bravdo loud. That was until i summoned Blackfear my personnel bodygaurd to Befallen he duly answered my call and arrived promptly. Both the traitorous iskars continued there insults until Blackfear challenged them to settle our differences in Combat. Typical FoL they both fled into the dungeon seeking safely from its many dark and twisty corridors.
A Victory has been given over FoL and it is the First Of Many you can TRUST ME OF THAT !!!!!!!

I've selected Zekan, a rising wizard of no little talent, to help lead Darkness into the future. Look for Zekan and give him your support. He shall lead us to victory over the Forces of Light

A miserable follower of light, Tannix, on a secret mission, was able to penetrate the defenses of Neriak! See photo here! Apparently they were none too pleased by our raiding of their sacred fish!
Thursday January 11, 2001
Yesterday the Shadow Group successfully raided the sacred minnows from the pond at the Hall of Truth in Freeport. The Queen will enjoy her delicacy at the embarrassment of the Paladins of Freeport. Icerose was caught and beaten by the Paladin guards but she didn't betray the mission. Charthin turns out to be quite good at frying up fish cakes (don't let the Queen know that some of the minnows didn't reach Neriak!).

Saturday December 2, 2000
We gathered in Befallen (Morkano, Utania, Daneni, Tarke, Rycheck, Hecuva and Ariakaas) only to find that the Forces of Light attempted to trap us there. Only Ariakaas was able to break out of Light's trap. Tannix arrived and kept us busy with insults while we didn't realize that such a large force of Light was gathering. Soon they had us outnumbered. We made two attempts to break out, the first resulted in Tarke's capture. On the second Ariakaas was able to outpower them and escape but their magic was too powerful for the rest of us (dang roots!).

Free Comedy Show in Oasis this Sunday 12pm Central!
---------------------------------------------------
Greetings All,
I have heard tell that Lord Greyrobe and the rabble that call themselves the Forces of Light are to attempt to slay the mighty Cazel (an enormous sand giant) this Sunday.
As there are almost bound to be numerous deaths as our hated foe are pounded one by one into the sand, I would think it obligatory for all our members to turn up and bring a picnic!
(Those feeling particularly charitable might offer to help in the spirit of the Truce).
Bring food and alcohol!
Regards,
Daneni
[OOC - obviously, try and avoid upsetting players, keep it all in character or find something else to do].
PS
We will be organising events of our own real soon - watch this space! Meanwhile,
if you're really starved of fun and adventure & can make the 2pm Central
Wednesday slot, don't forget that all our members are welcome to assist the
Shadow Group on their regular missions!
Thursday November 16, 2000
Icerose's bio added!
Shadow Group's second mission has been rescheduled for Wednesday the 23rd.
Friday November 3, 2000
Hecuva & Kyrisis bio added.
Thursday November 2, 2000
Dipree lead our assasination team to success! Intercepting the bard Cherryh in Oasis a pitched battle was fought. As her escort (Dolean & Utenladar) were beaten down we were able to strike at Cherryh. She staggered into North Ro and finally went down for the last time (after being knocked unconcious several times). As Cherryh was struck down a strong feeling of evil power surged forth. Our force retreated to the Ro Tunnel to meet Lord Morkano and discuss the success. Morkano's senses confirmed that indeed Cherryh must have been in possession of a powerful evil artifact. It is vital that we do not let this artifact reach Balar in High Hold. No doubt FoL will protect it with a stronger force for the trip from Freeport to High Hold. We will need a strong and brave team to defeat them and take this powerful evil artifact.
Our spies report FoL has carried Cherryh's body and the artifact into Freeport. We were able to secretly investigate and have learned this artifact is a staff which requires someone of at least 29 seasons of experience to unleash it's power.
Lessons learned:
1) We need the teams organized in advance so that these missions can
be run smoothly.
2) Small guildwar conflicts run very well.
3) As one player put it "We've gotta do this again. I'm still shaking
from the adrenaline rush."
Wednesday November 1, 2000
Daneni lead the Shadow Group into Befallen. There was some confusion over the purpose of the mission. Daneni initially claimed it was to investigate a breakaway sect of The Dead - necromancers and shadowknights living in Befallen. This much was true. But when Hecuva and Icerose lost Daneni - and found her doppleganger - they began to suspect that there was something more going on here!!
When Dipree and Virtego appeared, the reunited group of 5 were able to complete the mission -- the assassination of a shadowknight who was the spitting image of Daneni herself, and who had been impersonating her in Freeport, causing no small mischief!
Wednesday October 25, 2000
Tizoc deserves special mention today. Tizoc stood alone against a spectre at the docks in Oasis sacrificing himself for everyone else! Tizoc is an inspiration for all of us! Well done Tizoc!
Daneni bio page added (Excellent long story with plot info!)
The addition of Tuldaen (30th level Druid) will be extremely valuable, we have group ports, buffs and healing!
As a result of last night's guild meeting the command structure has been greatly modified. We are still working out the details so please be patient and relay corrections to us so that they may be reflected on the website.
Tuesday October 24, 2000
Shadow Group now meeting regularly on Wednesdays at 2 PM Central.
I've redesigned the website to try to be a bit more "interactive". Of course this will only work if you our members actually submit information to be posted. Please report any broken links.
Please note the guildwar rules and guidelines have been updated. Please read them.
Note: Morkano does NOT post on the message board because it refuses to accept messages posted... argh....
