Unity of Albion Alliance Charter
The "Unity of Albion Alliance" (or just "Unity" for short)
is an alliance founded on the concept of having an organized alliance
with responsive leadership. A primary goal of this alliance is to work with
all the other alliances for a united response to our struggle against Midgard
and Hibernia.
Key Concepts
- Fun - Dark Ages of Camelot should be enjoyable, nobody should feel
pressured to do something they don't want to do (i.e. if you are having fun
deep in a dungeon we don't expect you to drop everything and rush to the frontier
on the first rumor of an invasion)
- Roleplaying - Roleplaying means a lot of different things to different
people. We'd like to encourage and support all forms of roleplaying, whether
it be hard core or just casual. The only thing we don't support is "power
leveling".
- Communication - Camelot is a social game, we wish to promote communication
between guild members, between alliance guilds and with other alliances.
- Structure - with volunteers serving in defined roles we hope to bring
forth more events and to be able to field an army that functions effectively.
- Leadership - we aren't going to muddle around with "decision
by committee". This alliance is lead by Balar. Input and recommendations
are provided by the council of leaders, but decisions will be made swiftly
by Balar. This website is maintained by Balar and thus avoids any bureaucracy
to get something posted or done.
- Respect - we will have no "level discrimination". A level
12 player is just as important as a level 50. This applies specifically to
RvR events - everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate on the
frontier!
/asend Usage
| |
The alliance chat channel (/asend) is not for idle chatter or
arguments. We do wish to promote the friendly usage of /asend so players
should not feel afraid to speak up, but at the same time we must
maintain appropriate usage of /asend (or players will start shutting it
off and the alliance becomes meaningless). An effort should be made to
avoid blatant OOC speech on /asend.
Proper Uses:
- Official event related roleplaying banter
- RvR information / reports
- One line "advertisements" for grouping
Banned Usage:
- Arguments of any form
- Idle chatter (no announcements of level gains or congrats; no discussion
of the weather or world politics or other OOC chatter)
- Conflicting "orders" - if you think we should be doing something
different speak to the leaders don't just announce your idea on /asend.

Resolving Issues
| |
Any issues (such as a troublesome player) will be taken up with the appropriate
guild leader. If the guild leader is unable to solve the issue the guild
will be removed from the alliance. |
Standard Policies
- We do not go /anon for RvR (we understand some clerics and such need
to occasionally use /anon to get away from the requests for rez etc). We are
not paranoid of "spies" in our realm. If there is a spy in our realm
then they already know a lot more about our plans than can be obtained
by a /who. Players need to be able to find leaders (thus the leaders need
to not be /anon) and leaders need to be able to check status and location
of players without extended dialog (thus everyone else needs to not be /anon).
- We do not encourage extended rallying in Castle Sauvage or waiting
in a portal keep. This burns out our players and reduces fun far more than
it keeps any "secrets" from the other realms.
- We encourage learning navigation of the other realms and independent operation.
We don't want everyone in one huge mass army just auto following each other.
Grouping
Our focus is on friendship and fun, we should not be trying to form "uber"
groups. In general for an event, grouping would be by guild with the leaders
then sorting out the "extras" and sometimes tweaking the grouping
(generally trying to balance minstrels, clerics, etc).
One of the primary goals of the alliance is to facilitate our groups forming
quickly and without fuss. Hence allowing us to respond to a call to arms quickly.
The alliance should be functioning as a team, thus there should be no concern
over whether one group is more powerful than another. When we assault a keep
it is a team effort.
RvR and PvE grouping is very different. In PvE we need to take more care such
that we don't ruin exp gain (not a focus for us but still a major part of the
game). In RvR it really doesn't matter who you are grouped with, it's a team
effort. In RvR we should attempt to mix levels as much as possible and attempt
to make sure each group has two rez capable players and one "speed"
person.
Stragglers - we try to make reasonable efforts to make sure stragglers are
not left behind. Waiting for one missed port is quite reasonable. But players
must realize that we tend to get a non-stop stream of people showing up late
and we can't expect our on time force to wait repeatedly as we wait for "one
more person". This is specifically true for RvR raids where a set departure
time is important for leaders trying to coordinate the timing of attacks. Be
on time or be prepared to catch up on your own.
