Unity of Albion Alliance Charter

The "Unity of Albion Alliance" (or just "Unity" for short) is an alliance founded on the concept of having an organized alliance with responsive leadership. A primary goal of this alliance is to work with all the other alliances for a united response to our struggle against Midgard and Hibernia.

Key Concepts

/asend Usage

The alliance chat channel (/asend) is not for idle chatter or arguments. We do wish to promote the friendly usage of /asend so players should not feel afraid to speak up, but at the same time we must maintain appropriate usage of /asend (or players will start shutting it off and the alliance becomes meaningless). An effort should be made to avoid blatant OOC speech on /asend.

Proper Uses:

  • Official event related roleplaying banter
  • RvR information / reports
  • One line "advertisements" for grouping

Banned Usage:

  • Arguments of any form
  • Idle chatter (no announcements of level gains or congrats; no discussion of the weather or world politics or other OOC chatter)
  • Conflicting "orders" - if you think we should be doing something different speak to the leaders don't just announce your idea on /asend.

Resolving Issues

Any issues (such as a troublesome player) will be taken up with the appropriate guild leader. If the guild leader is unable to solve the issue the guild will be removed from the alliance.

Standard Policies

Grouping

Our focus is on friendship and fun, we should not be trying to form "uber" groups. In general for an event, grouping would be by guild with the leaders then sorting out the "extras" and sometimes tweaking the grouping (generally trying to balance minstrels, clerics, etc).

One of the primary goals of the alliance is to facilitate our groups forming quickly and without fuss. Hence allowing us to respond to a call to arms quickly.

The alliance should be functioning as a team, thus there should be no concern over whether one group is more powerful than another. When we assault a keep it is a team effort.

RvR and PvE grouping is very different. In PvE we need to take more care such that we don't ruin exp gain (not a focus for us but still a major part of the game). In RvR it really doesn't matter who you are grouped with, it's a team effort. In RvR we should attempt to mix levels as much as possible and attempt to make sure each group has two rez capable players and one "speed" person.

Stragglers - we try to make reasonable efforts to make sure stragglers are not left behind. Waiting for one missed port is quite reasonable. But players must realize that we tend to get a non-stop stream of people showing up late and we can't expect our on time force to wait repeatedly as we wait for "one more person". This is specifically true for RvR raids where a set departure time is important for leaders trying to coordinate the timing of attacks. Be on time or be prepared to catch up on your own.
