Taal and Samenye – As related by Taal

Ah, what can I tell you of my sister and me? We’re grandchildren of Sir Palomides, of course, as are most of our Saracen brethren in Albion (giggle!) Sir Palomides was a bit of a philanderer (which is like saying that Arthur was a bit of a King!) Well, my sister is half Briton half Saracen, but I am part Indian, our mother having married twice. Yes, yes! That means Sam is my half-sister! But I love her just the same, even though her dad was a good-for-nothing…

My dad (the Indian, now you see!) was a silk merchant with a love of music. He travelled the Old Silk Road and heard tale of fair Camelot from a horse trader in Petra. Most particularly, he heard of how of a night, King Arthur’s Court was afire with light…and music. Especially music. So he had to hear for himself, for this man (the horse trader!) told him in all earnestness, that he’d never heard so angelic a sound in all his born days, and even God himself could want for no better.

So he travelled to fair Camelot and there, beneath a bright starry summer’s sky with music filling the air, he met my mother. For my mother was much saddened by the loss of her husband (the Briton!) for he’d gone and got himself killed in some fool Adventure in Hibernia (fighting the Irish!)

Well, that night was when I was conceived. And my father named me Taal, which means "Rhythm" in Indian, you see!

My sister? Oh yes, Sam! She’s the eldest. She’s littler than me, but meaner. She’s always fighting. She took the name "Aljehad" which means "Holy War", because she says our fight for Albion is for God. She made me take it too, and well, I still have bruises to show for when I once said No to her! But I hope there won’t be war…

Taal Aljehad

Taal – Saracen Minstrel: Will specialise 1/1 Instruments, 1/2 Thrusting, 1/2 Stealth (may put more in Stealth, less in Instruments if Stealth proves useful to her in RvR).

Samenye – Saracen Mercenary: Will specialise 1/1 Dual Wield, 2/3 Slashing, 1/2 Parry. May play with the balance between Dual Wield & Slashing, but is basically going to be strongly offensive.
