Rhydoc

Rhydoc, of course, is a cleric and came with Lord Balar and Lady Delora to Albion from Schloss Matzen to help fight the enemy. Her parents were Highlander traveling merchants who at some point set up shop nearby Schloss Matzen and also worked as agents for Balar's father and eventually Balar. Since they travelled a lot, Rhydoc spent a lot of time at the castle as she grew up. She eventually studied for the clergy and became a cleric and lived at the castle in service to Lord Balar and Lady Delora (and of course to her God). She is a thoughtful, introspective, gentle and yet practical person who is quiet spoken and very dedicated and loyal. She can sometimes be a little too serious minded and takes her studies and responsibilities very seriously. However, she does have a sense of humor and does enjoy a good time with friends and family. In battle, she concentrates on healing and the occasional stun. Before and between battle, you will see her buffing her fellow group members and healing their wounds.

The adventures of Rhydoc

November 5, 2001

Rhydoc awoke in Ludlow where she had rested the day before. She wandered for a time in Ludlow and conversed with some friends, and came across the Stable there. She talked briefly to the Stable Master and found he only had one ticket left and that was to a Fort Sauvage.

Rhydoc having never ridden a horse had a great desire to do so. However, she had no idea where Fort Sauvage was. After much consideration, she decided her desire to ride a horse outweighed her lack of knowledge as to what she would face at this Fort Sauvage. The name of the place sent shivers through her. It sounded like a most savage place.

She checked her pockets for change and found she did have the price of a ticket, even though it would take most of her treasury. Handing the 5 silver pieces to the Stable Master, she was given a ticket. With a sense of excitement, she gave her ticket back to him. He had but one horse by his stable. The horse was lean and looked kind of bony, but healthy. She mounted the horse awkwardly, and it galloped away towards Fort Sauvage. She clung on the best she could as her cloak whipped behind her. The horse was fast and made tight turns as it headed to its destination. After a while, what looked like a fortress appeared and the horse slowed down and stopped to the side of the gates at a stable. With shaking legs, Rhydoc dismounted and gave her panting horse to the Stable Master to be cooled down. She took time to rub the horses nose, before heading to the Gate.

As Rhydoc approached the gates, she waved to the guards there and looked up at the impressive banners on either side of the gate. She knocked at the gate but it did not open. She knocked again and again it did not open. She stepped back and looked around and was about to say something to the guards when another traveler arriving on foot walked up to the wall beside the gates and pulled a lever. The gates opened. She ran through with the person and was inside the Fortress. She went to investigate this opening mechanism and discovered that the gates only opened and closed if you pulled the lever.

The Fortress inside was small with only a Courtyard and gates on either side of the Courtyard with a few guard towers off the courtyard. Taking up about a fourth of the courtyard was a big round stone pad. There were several people standing and sitting on it. These appeared to be several travelers and several magic users in uniform. As she went to step upon the platform, the magic users started to cast a spell, therefore she hesitated and stepped back to watch them. There was quite a show of magic, and suddenly all the travelers were gone. The magic users then retired back to their quarters. Rhydoc had discovered a mighty portal to the Frontier!

After resting for a bit and looking around the Fortress and talking to some of the people there, she started the long run back to Camelot. After many miles of running, she saw the gates of Camelot approaching and sighed in relief. She was back in familiar grounds.
