Miacon
Greeting M'lord. I trust this meeting will not take too long as I still have
much studying to do and I know that you must be very busy running the guild
and all.
How was I brought to your attention you say? Well it seems that one of your
own, a Mercenary of some season, decided to help me out with some items that
he found in the Mithraic Tombs and then suggested that I seek you out to join
with others who seek to protect our fair lands, thus we are meeting now.
I hail from the Campacorentin Forest, more specifically near the Lethantis Association
where I took up my study of magic. Yes, I know there is nothing like a good
sword at your side (mumbles)(fighters), but I have found that magic can serve
as viable a purpose as any weapon you carry my lord. Yes, I know the arguments
of a close up fight between fighter and mage....My goal is to see that the fighter
does not get close enough to strike those blows though if it happens, I have
spells to help enhance my weapons and armor to help me out in the battle.
I am guessing that you do not visit our section of the lands much. Well, The
Lethantis Association has trained some of the finest spellcasters in the realm.
It is even said that Merlin himself has graced our halls on rare occasions in
the past, though he is a presence that will be sorely missed.
Maybe that is what our new king needs is the guidance and knowledge of a wizard
at his side. It seems that it worked quite well for Lord Arthur before his passing.
Lately all I seem to hear about are the battles on the frontiers and the other
known lands trying to conquer us. Surely they know by now that will be impossible.
I guess their barbaric natures do not allow for the intelligence to understand.
It is a shame.
Myself, I have not managed to travel much as my studies have taken up a good
deal of my time. I am now in the world trying to use the meager but masterfully
crafted armors given to me by guild members and my now trusty staff the the
mercenary graciously gave me, to advance my skills so that I to can stand in
defense of our fair lands.
(noise of a ruckus outside) Excuse me m'lord.... (gets up and steps outside)
Bandits are running after attacking a merchant.......Miacon mutters a few words
and a fireball erupts from his hands and strikes a bandit in the back. The bandit
turns only to be engulfed in flames then in ice and then is hit by another fire
ball and drops.
Miacon turns and see you standing there gripping your sword. "As I said
m'lord, I do not intend to let them get close enough to swing."
A bandit steps out of the shadows and swings at Miacon. Miacon parries with
his staff and gives the bandit a hit to the ribs followed by one to the head.
As the bandit swings again he flinches as if he hand has been burned by hitting
Miacon in the shoulder. Miacon follows with a swing to the ribs that is dodged
and a followup to the jaw which stuns the bandit in time for the guards to arrive
and take him.
I am sorry m'lord, but we have had bandit problems as of late. As you can see,
I can fight if need arises though I am not too good at it. It is just that the
bandits are not that good either. (rubbing his shoulder)
I am sorry to cut this short m'lord but I must go and do some training exercises
at the school. I have recently advanced in my skills and hope to learn some
new spells for my protection. I hope you have a pleasant trip and it has been
a pleasure to have met you good sir.
